TÜV Rheinland

TÜV Rheinland has set itself the goal of implementing a modern, user-friendly and device-independent application for internal and external inspectors. The application should run in the field on all end devices and be based on the latest user interface technology from SAP. In addition, the solution is to be integrated into the existing SAP system landscape.

Steps & Highlights

During the entire project, Vision11 successfully supported TÜV Rheinland in the conception, implementation and commissioning of the Inspection Management System. A total of 22 dynamic mobile applications based on SAP Fiori were implemented. By applying a dynamic and reusable role concept within the application, it is possible to control the numerous applications in a more streamlined and user-friendly manner. This means that each individual user in the field receives only the information and functions that are relevant to him or her and are tailored to his or her individual needs.

Added value

With the introduction of the mobile Inspection Management System, employees in the field can work with a mobile and user-friendly application. The previous solution, based on local data storage and replication, was completely replaced. Data quality and user acceptance were increased in the long term. The mobile accessibility of the new application enables the inspectors to retrieve all necessary data directly at the customer’s site, to record it and to synchronize it with the central SAP system in real time. This completely eliminates the need for subsequent maintenance by field staff, and the information entered in the field is immediately available for subsequent processes.
